The exhibition will remain on view through Dec. 16 and can be viewed during regular gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cuscuna studied painting and photography at The Cooper Union in New York. For more than 30 years, she designed multimedia presentations for corporations, Broadway productions and museums including The International Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland; The George Bush Presidential Library in Texas; The Petronas Discovery Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and the planetarium in the American Museum of Natural History in New York. After turning her attention to painting, she first experimented with jars of liquid paint, pouring them together over flat canvases on the floor. She later developed ways of pouring backgrounds to look like landscapes and beaches, to which she then added detail with brushes. She next became a surrealist, combining poured landscapes with visions seen through translucent doors and window. The Horizons exhibition will include works in each of these styles.
