At the opening reception for her exhibition at the RFA Decor gallery (150 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Fla.), artist Nava Lundy will be searching for her next muse. The public is invited to attend, and guests are encouraged to “dress to inspire” for the chance to become the subject of a future Nava Lundy painting. The reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 21. Those interested in attending can RSVP to rsvp@rfadecor.com or by calling 561-994-4422 x150. The exhibition of Nava Lundy’s paintings will remain on view through December 21 and can be viewed during regular gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“This night is about people getting inspired by my work, and me getting inspired by them,” Lundy said. “I want people to feel like they are a part of the art, not just coming to see it. There’s not a specific look that I am going for. People don’t have to be young or beautiful or thin. I want to be surprised by the guests to find the next person I want to paint.” Lundy and her work have been featured in several media outlets including The Chicago Tribune, NBC’s nationally syndicated program Daytime, and the PBS documentary, “After Parkland: The Healing of a Community and a Nation,” as well as locally. Her work has been used in set designs in several films and is part of the permanent collections of universities and museums including Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, Israel, and The University of South Florida.
The RFA Decor gallery features original artwork and hand-embellished giclées by emerging and mid-career artists from throughout the United States.
